SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley baseball team (26-27, 7-16 WAC) can clinch a spot in the WAC Tournament with a win over Sacramento State (27-27, 11-12 WAC) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at John Smith Field and a Seattle U (8-15 WAC) loss to Utah Valley.
In the scenario, UTRGV and Seattle U would finished tied for the final spot. UTRGV wins the tiebreaker by virtue of winning the series 2-1.
Should Chicago State (7-16 WAC) also win to force a three-way tie, UTRGV would win that tiebreaker as well by virtue of a 4-2 record against Seattle U and Chicago State.
