LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team fell to Little Rock 4-0 on Sunday at Coleman Sports & Recreation Complex.
Erna Gudjonsdottir recorded a hat trick for Little Rock (5-5-1), scoring three goals over the final 15 minutes of the first half.
Liesa Selfert scored the game-winning goal on a header following a corner kick by
Jaclyn Purvine in the 10
th minute.
Senior Harlingen South alum
Erica Gonzalez (3-2-1) finished with five saves.
UTRGV (4-5-2) finished with six shots on goal, including two by senior
Hanna Spets, but
Kate Hamilton (2-0-0) made six saves for the shutout.
UTRGV finished with 15 total shots, while Little Rock attempted 18 shots, including nine on goal.
UTRGV closes out non-conference play on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Texas Lutheran at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex. Fans are encouraged to wear orange to raise awareness for Leukemia. Gates open at 6.
