EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley baseball team (4-0) plays host to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (2-1) for the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union, on $2 Tuesday at 6 p.m. at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.
The first 200 fans in attendance will receive wristbands to redeem #BeatCorpus t-shirts.
Gates open at 5.
There will be a student organization tailgate from 6-to-8 p.m. with minute to win it games and free food for UTRGV students while supplies last.
Fans can take advantage of our special pricing for $2 Tuesday as general admission tickets and most concession stand items will cost $2 or less.
Current UTRGV students get free general admission with a valid student ID.
The South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union, involves the UTRGV and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Departments of Intercollegiate Athletics competing against each other in baseball, volleyball, women's soccer and golf, and men's and women's basketball, tennis, cross country and outdoor track & field.
The yearly champion is presented with a traveling trophy at the final meeting of the academic year.
