LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team returns to action when it hits the road to face off against Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at the Cajun Courts.
 
Last Time Out
UTRGV (4-7) had its last match of the H-E-B Tournament of Champions cancelled due to rain. UTRGV fell to Troy 1-4 in its previous match.
 
Play started with singles play as UTRGV got the first lead of the day when Elliot Johnstone recorded the 6-1, 6-2 win over Mustapha Belcora on court four.
 
It was the lone point for UTRGV and the second win of the day for Johnstone.
 
Troy won on courts one, three, five and six to clinch the win.
 
Scouting Louisiana
Louisiana is 13-8 on the season after defeating New Orleans 5-2 back on March 11. Louisiana is on a two-match win streak after also defeating Southern Miss 4-1 on March 10.
 
Prior to its two-match win streak, Louisiana lost three straight to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UTSA, DePaul.
 
The All-Time Series
UTRGV is 0-10 all-time in a series that dates back to 2001.
 
Both teams met up last season as Louisiana beat UTRGV 6-1 on February 28, 2017.

UTRGV currently has nine student-athletes on the roster representing five different countries, including the France (Dennis Boisseau, Clément Sarradin), United States (Jake Davidson, Zane Kohrs, Michael Loyd), Australia (Koby Jansen, Elliot Johnstone), Israel (Yehonatan Kaufman), and Argentina (Mateo Schmit).
 
Next Up
UTRGV will be right back in action on Saturday when it travels to Thibodeaux, Louisiana to face Nicholls State at 1 p.m.
