MCALLEN – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team closes out the Spring Break Showdown as it faces Prairie View A&M on Saturday at 1 p.m. at McAllen Country Club.
 
Southern Utah and Oral Roberts will be the first match of the day starting at 9 a.m.
 
Last Time Out
UTRGV (7-8) picked up its third straight win after defeating Oral Roberts 4-1 on Friday.
 
UTRGV fell behind early as they dropped the doubles point.
 
UTRGV then answered back with four straight singles wins. Clément Sarradin got UTRGV on the board with a win on court five. Yehonatan Kaufman followed with a win on court three.
 
Koby Jansen made it 3-1 with a win on court one and then it was Dennis Boisseau who clinched the win with a victory on court two.
 
Scouting Prairie View A&M
Prairie View A&M is 4-18 on the season after falling to Southern Utah on Friday. Both of these teams played earlier in the season as UTRGV won 5-1 at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
 
Prairie View A&M has recorded wins against Alcorn State, Alabama A&M, Mississippi Valley State, and Jackson State.
 
Prairie View A&M is currently riding a five-match losing streak.
 
The All-Time Series
UTRGV is 16-0 all-time against Prairie View A&M in a series that dates back to 1986.

UTRGV currently has nine student-athletes on the roster representing five different countries, including the France (Dennis Boisseau, Clément Sarradin), United States (Jake Davidson, Zane Kohrs, Michael Loyd), Australia (Koby Jansen, Elliot Johnstone), Israel (Yehonatan Kaufman), and Argentina (Mateo Schmit).
 
Next Up
UTRGV will be back in action on March 29 when it travels to Kansas City, Missouri to face New Mexico State in the first WAC Cluster of the season.
