CHICAGO, Ill. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team picked up its first Western Athletic Conference win of the season after defeating Chicago State 5-2 on Friday at the CSU Tennis Courts.
UTRGV (10-10, 1-2 WAC) needed to win just one doubles match to clinch the point with Chicago State (5-16. 0-3 WAC) only having five players and it got that win on court two. Senior

Yehonatan Kaufman defeated Rohan Wattley and George Botha 6-4 to take the 1-0 lead into singles.
UTRGV added to its lead with a default win on court six and then freshman Zane Kohrs dropped just one game to Cody Wurzelbacher on court to make it 3-0 after the 6-0, 6-1 win.
Sophomore Clément Sarradin clinched the win for UTRGV after defeating Christian Gonzalez 6-3, 6-2 on court four. Kaufman closed out the scoring with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Wattley on court two before Chicago State got wins on courts three and one to get on the board.
UTRGV will be back in action on April 14 when it takes on UMKC at 4 p.m. at the CSU Tennis Courts.
