CHICAGO, Ill. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team closes out its regular season when it faces Seattle U on Sunday at the CSU Tennis Courts.
Last Time Out
UTRGV (10-11, 1-3 WAC) lost 0-7 to UMKC on Saturday.
UMKC took the early lead after winning on two of three courts. Zane Kohrs and Clément Sarradin picked up a win on court three but UTRGV went into singles trailing 0-1.
UMKC then swept through singles to clinch the win.
Scouting Seattle U
Seattle U is 9-12 and 1-3 in conference play this season after defeating Chicago State 6-1 on Saturday. Seattle U has lost to Grand Canyon, UMKC, and New Mexico State in WAC play.
Seattle U is 59-67 in singles play this season while Arshak Khazaryan leads the team with 10 victories this season. Emilio Monroy has added nine victories and Jeremiah Kalmus has added eight.
In doubles, Seattle U is 24-34 on the season with Monroy and Khzaryan lead the way with five victories. Seattle U has used 15 doubles this spring with just one team winning more than three matches.
The All-Time Series
UTRGV is 5-0 against Seattle U all-time in a series that dates back to 1980.
Both teams met last year when it was UTRGV that came away with the 5-2 victory.

UTRGV currently has nine student-athletes on the roster representing five different countries, including the France (Dennis Boisseau, Clément Sarradin), United States (Jake Davidson, Zane Kohrs, Michael Loyd), Australia (

Next Up
UTRGV will now turn its preparation for the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, which takes place from April 27-29 in Phoenix, Arizona.
