EDINBURG –The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's basketball team closed the game on an 18-3 run to beat Seattle U 69-56 on Saturday at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.

Quynne Huggins led UTRGV (9-9, 3-2 WAC) with 20 points while hitting four three-pointers, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out four assists.Senior

Amara Graham each scored 11 points. Graduate student
Madison Northcutt finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
Joana Alves led Seattle U (0-18, 0-5 WAC) with 12 points.
Courtney Murphy scored 11 points.
Carla Bieg finished with 10 points.
Seattle U led 53-51 early in the fourth quarter. Northcutt responded with back-to-back layups, Graham hit a pair of free throws and Huggins nailed a three to give UTRGV a 60-53 lead.
Then, with the lead cut to 60-56 with a minute and a half to go, Graham buried a three to spark a 9-0 run to end the game.
Graham hit a three and Johnson made a jumper as UTRGV scored the first five points en route to an 8-3 lead.
UTRGV led by as much as six in the first half at 12-6 on a Northcutt layup late in the first quarter. Seattle U responded by scoring the next nine points to build a lead that they held for the rest of the half.
UTRGV tied the game at 33 on a Northcutt layup at the start of the third quarter and regained the lead at 39-38 on another Northcutt layup.
UTRGV is back in action on Saturday at 3 p.m. at defending WAC Champion New Mexico State.
