CORPUS CHRISTI – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team dropped its opening match of the H-E-B Tournament of Champions 0-4 to the University of Texas at San Antonio on Friday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
 
UTRGV (2-8) fell behind after dropping a pair of doubles matches on courts one and three. Sophomore Zane Kohrs and junior Clément Sarradin were in the middle of their match with Kai Breitbach and Alan Sanson on court two when the match was stopped.
 
In singles, UTSA won on courts three, five and six to clinch the win. The matches on courts one, two and four went unfinished when the match was clinched.
 
UTRGV will be back on the court this afternoon when it faces DePaul at the H-E-B Tennis Center in its second match of the H-E-B Tournament of Champions.
