CORPUS CHRISTI – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team fell 2-4 to DePaul University in its second match of the day at the H-E-B Tournament of Champions on Friday at the H-E-B Tennis Center.
 
Singles were played first with doubles only played if needed. UTRGV (2-9) won on two of the six singles courts as senior Yehonatan Kaufman defeated Boris Spanjaard 6-3, 6-1 on court two.
 
Sophomore Zane Kohrsadded another win for UTRGV after defeating Tripp Tuff 6-4, 6-2 on court six.
 
DePaul (7-5) clinched the victory with wins on courts one, three, four and five. UTRGV had opportunities to force doubles play as two of the four courts they lost went three sets. Freshmen Samuel de Felipe Garcia and George Hutchings each won in the first sets of their matches before falling in the second and third. 
 
UTRGV will close out the H-E-B Tournament of Champions on Saturday when it faces fellow Western Athletic Conference opponent New Mexico State at 10 a.m. at the H-E-B Tennis Center.
