SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team will be back on the road this weekend to face the University of Texas at San Antonio and University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.
 
UTRGV will face UTSA at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Incarnate Word at 10 a.m. on Sunday. 
 
Last Time Out

• UTRGV had its first home match of the season as it fell 2-5 to Laredo Community College.
• Won one doubles match as Clément Sarradin and George Hutchings beat Manuel Pilotto and Mauricio Grijalva 6-4 on court one.
• Sarradin also won in singles play defeating Juan David Ramirez 6-1, 6-1 on court three.
• Mateo Schmit earned the other point for UTRGV with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Adrian Martinez on court five.

 
All-Time Series

• UTRGV is 23-33 all-time against UTSA in a series that dates back to 1982.
• UTSA won this season's previous matchup with UTRGV 4-0 in the first match at the H-E-B Tournament of Champions. 
• UTRGV last defeated UTSA on Mar. 4, 2016 when it won 4-2 at the H-E-B Tournament of Champions.
• UTRGV is 4-4 all-time against Incarnate Word in a series that dates back to 2001.
• UTRGV won the last matchup with Incarnate Word with a 5-2 win at home.

 
Scouting UTSA

• UTSA is 9-2 on the season.
• UTSA is coming off of a 4-2 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Feb. 28.
• Its two losses this season have come against No. 8 Texas and Louisiana.
• UTSA is currently on a three-match win streak after falling to Louisiana at the H-E-B Tournament of Champions with wins against UTRGV, Tennessee Tech, and Corpus Christi.
• UTSA is 41-17 in singles play this spring with Javier Gonzalez leading the way with a 10-1 record while playing most of his matches at the No. 3 spot.
• In doubles, UTSA is 18-9 with Joao Ceolin and Juri Reckow leading the way with a 7-3 record. 

 
Scouting Incarnate Word

• UIW is 4-3 on the season.
• UIW is coming off of a 0-7 loss to No. 3 Texas on Feb. 26.
• UIW will be playing Trinity University today before facing UTRGV.
• Its four wins have come against Prairie View A&M, Our Lady of the Lake, Arkansas Pine Bluff, and St. Mary's.
