EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team fell 0-4 to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in its final matchup in the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union, on Wednesday at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
 
With the loss UTRGV's lead in the showdown standings shrinks to 26.5 points to 21.5 points. 
 
UTRGV (2-14) had the lead on a couple of matches in doubles but Corpus Christi (13-5) battled back to win on courts one and three to take the point.
 
In singles, Corpus Christi won on courts one, six and five to clinch the victory. 
 
UTRGV's matches on courts two, three, and four went unfinished in the second set.
 
UTRGV will have some time off before their next match on March 22 when it hosts Nicholls State at 11 a.m. as part of the UTRGV Spring Break Showdown at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
