EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Saturday that the men's basketball team will take part in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT) and host a postseason game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
 
The opponent will be announced on Sunday night.
 
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at UTRGVTickets.comor by contacting the UTRGV Fan Relationship Management Center (FRMC) team of Anaclaudia Cervantes (956-665-3415) and Carlos Munoz (956-665-3747) over the phone or through email at tickets@utrgv.edu.
 
A select number of tickets are exclusively reserved for UTRGV season ticket holders, corporate partners and V Club members and will be available until 12 p.m. on Monday by contacting Cervantes or Munoz directly.
 
A limited number of courtside tickets are available for $25 each. Reserved seats are $10 each while general admission seats are $5 each.
 
Current UTRGV students receive free admission with a UTRGV student ID.
 
This is the second-straight year in which UTRGV is participating in the postseason after taking part in the College Basketball Invitational last year.
 
This is the first postseason home game since the program joined Division I. The program last hosted a postseason game on March 2, 1965 in the NAIA District Playoffs against Midwestern State.
 
This is the first postseason men's basketball game in the history of the fieldhouse, which opened in 1969.
 
UTRGV is currently in the midst of its winningest season in 17 years with 19 victories.
