Conrado Diaz hit a walk-off single with one out in the ninth to send The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley baseball team to its second-straight walk-off win, 6-5 over Utah Valley University (UVU) on Friday at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.
The win is UTRGV's (33-19, 18-8 WAC) program record 18

Freshman
Jacob Flores led off the ninth with a double against
Kohl Hostert (0-2). One out later, junior
Andy Atwood was intentionally walked to bring up Diaz, who lifted a fly ball beyond the outfielders in left-center to end the game.
That made a winner of senior Nikki Rowe alum
Ryan Jackson (5-3), who retired both batters he faced in the ninth.
A pair of errors and a bunt single loaded the bases for UTRGV to start the game. Senior
Anthony Gomez followed with an RBI-ground out, junior
Christian Sepulveda hit an RBI-single, and then junior
Tyler Torres and freshman Vela alum
Aaron Galvan hit into fielder's choices on which no outs were recorded to give UTRGV a 4-0 lead.
UVU (14-38, 9-17 WAC) got on the board in the third on an
Alexander Marco sacrifice fly and the fourth on a two-run single by
Ryan Eastburn.
Then, in the seventh, UVU drew a pair of two-out walks, setting up an error to score the tying run.
Kade Poulsen followed with a go-ahead single that made the score 5-4.
UTRGV tied the game in the bottom of the inning on an Atwood RBI-double.
