RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley baseball team opens the season against Big 12 opponent Kansas State as part of the Al Olgetree Classic on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2, Sunday at 2 and Monday at 7 at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.

The weekend is full of promotions:
Friday
Coach Al Celebration of Life – UTRGV baseball opens its season during homecoming weekend against Kansas State by honoring the life and legacy of head coach emeritus Al Ogletree, who passed away this past summer. The first 500 fans in attendance received a Coach Al memento. There is a Coach Al exhibit featuring his jerseys, photos, news clippings, and more at the front of the baseball stadium throughout the series.

Homecoming Alumni Mixer – The alumni mixer for UTRGV and legacy alumni start at 6 p.m. with appetizers, refreshments, and a special alumni gift. UTRGV/UTPA/UTB alumni must RSVP for the mixer by calling (956) 665-2500 or sending an email to alumni@utrgv.edu.

Raising Cane's Challenge – After every Friday home victory, fans can take home a buy one, get one free Raising Cane's box combo coupon.

Dirtiest Car in the Lot – One free car wash is be presented to the owner of the dirtiest car in the parking lot at every home game, courtesy of BlueWave Express.

Ticket Offer for Basketball – Present your ticket from Friday or Saturday's baseball game at the UTRGV Fieldhouse box office to get $1 off your ticket to UTRGV men's basketball vs. Seattle U on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Saturday

Current UTRGV students get free general admission to all games with a valid UTRGV student ID.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at UTRGVTickets.com. Fans purchasing their tickets online prior to game day can save up to $2 per ticket.
