CORPUS CHRISTI – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's tennis closed out the H-E-B Tournament of Champions with an 0-4 loss to Troy University on Saturday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
 
UTRGV (2-6) fell behind early in the match as Troy (7-4) came up with the doubles point by winning at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. 
 
In singles, Troy picked up wins at the No. 1, 3, and 5 spots to clinch the win. The other matches were stopped when the match was clinched.
 
Sophomore George Hutchings was on the verge of picking up a win at the No. 4 spot against Christopher Tasker but the match was stopped. Hutchings won 6-4 in the first set before the match was stopped at 5-4 in the second. 
 
UTRGV will be back in action on Wednesday, February 26, when it hosts Lamar University at the Orville Cox Tennis Center at 11 a.m.
