RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer fell to the Utah Valley University Wolverines 1-0 on Saturday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
Nicole Ray scored the game-winning goal for the Wolverines (6-2-1, 5-1-0 WAC) in the opening minutes of the second half on a low shot into the net off a pass by
Sadie Brockbank.
That was it against sophomore
Maile Lunardi (4-3-2), who made nine saves.
Mari Liis Lillemae led the Vaqueros (4-3-2, 1-3-1 WAC) offensively with four shots, including two on goal.
The Wolverines outshot the Vaqueros 18-8, including 10-2 on goal.
