SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) baseball team (28-21, 19-12 WAC) faces Sacramento State (31-19, 19-13 WAC) in a series that will determine who gets the No. 2 seed and a first round bye in the WAC Tournament on Thursday at 8 p.m., Friday with a doubleheader at 3 and Saturday at 12 at John Smith Field.

If the Vaqueros win at least three games, or the Vaqueros win two games and Grand Canyon takes at least three games from California Baptist, the Vaqueros clinch the No. 2 seed and Sacramento State will be the No. 3 seed.

Grand Canyon is already locked into the No. 1 seed while New Mexico State is locked into the No. 4 seed. Northern Colorado, Seattle U and Utah Valley are all competing for the final two spots.
