RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vice President and Director of Athletics
Chasse Conque announced on Wednesday that the department has parted ways with men's and women's track & field and cross country head coach
Darren Flowers.
A national search to fill the position will begin immediately.
"We have carefully reviewed our track & field and cross country programs and determined it is in the best interest of our programs to seek new leadership," Conque said. "We thank Coach Flowers for his efforts on behalf of the UTRGV track & field and cross country teams. We wish him well personally and professionally moving forward."
UTRGV's yearly conferences finishes in men's and women's cross country (MXC and WXC) and indoor (MITF and WITF) and outdoor track & field (MOTF and WOTF) over the past four years:
