RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros baseball team (23-16) is set to host the #6 Texas Longhorns (30-13) for the first time in 51 years on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.
The game is presented by
G3 Scrap Metal.
The last time these two teams met in Edinburg, legacy institution Pan American took three out of four. Pan Am went on to sweep Texas in what was then known as the NCAA District Round en route to the 1971 College World Series.
The game is sold out, although tickets have been set aside for current UTRGV students, who get in free with their student ID.
Gates open for season ticket holders at 5 p.m. and everyone else at 5:30 p.m.
