STILLWATER, Okla. –The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's tennis team was defeated 7-0 by the Oklahoma State Cowboys to close a doubleheader between the teams Saturday at the Greenwood Tennis Center. 
 
The Cowboys (2-0) went up 1-0 with doubles wins in the second and first flights. Junior Emilien Burnel and sophomore Borna Devald earned a good 6-4 win for UTRGV (0-2) on the third doubles court. 
 
Oklahoma State secured the victory with singles wins at Nos. 1, 4 and 3. But the Vaqueros continued to battle in their respective matches with the team victory out of reach. Burnel made a push in the second set of his No. 2 match against OSU's Francisco Pini, but Pini held on 6-1, 6-4. Freshman McAllen Memorial alum Agustin Salazar showed fight in his singles debut at No. 6. 
 
UTRGV will face Oral Roberts on Monday at 10 a.m. back at OSU's Greenwood Tennis Center.
