RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros volleyball team is gearing up for a big Western Athletic Conference (WAC) battle Thursday at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
The Vaqueros (11-8, 5-1 WAC) are riding a four-match winning streak – all conference sweeps – and have moved into a tie for second in the conference standings with the Grand Canyon (GCU) Lopes (12-5, 5-1 WAC). UTRGV and GCU will face off at 6:30 p.m. Thursday with sole possession of second place up for grabs as the end of the first round of WAC play nears.
