SEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's tennis team was defeated 5-2 Friday on the road by the Seattle U (SU) Redhawks in a Western Athletic Conference (WAC) match. 
 
Seattle U (6-8, 2-2 WAC) won the doubles point to take the early 1-0 lead with wins on the second and third courts. UTRGV's (6-16, 1-3 WAC) top duo of junior Emilien Burnel and sophomore Borna Devald continued to play well together, picking up another conference win, 6-1. 
 
Burnel got a win due to retirement in the top singles flight, then the Redhawks secured the match victory with a string of wins by Julian Worn, Filip Stipic, Michael Frank and Yu Han Hsieh on the fourth, second, fifth and sixth courts. 
 
Sophomore Karlo Krolo gutted out a come-from-behind win in an extremely tight No. 2 match. Seattle U's Veselin Kiselkov won the first set after a length tiebreaker, 7-6 (14:12). Then, Krolo responded to win the second set 6-4 and the third set tiebreaker, 1-0 (10:7). 
 
The Vaqueros will play their final WAC match of the regular season Sunday at 12 p.m. (CT) at Grand Canyon.
