RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros baseball team (20-15, 7-8 WAC) is set to host the Abilene Christian University Wildcats (24-12, 9-6 WAC), a team receiving votes in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll, on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and for a doubleheader Saturday at 3 p.m. at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.
Friday
Cane's Challenge
The Cane's Challenge rewards fans when the Vaqueros win on Friday nights with a buy one, get one free coupon for a box combo at Raising Cane's.
Saturday
Bark in the Park
Fans can bring their dogs to the game. Dogs get in free. Dog owners must purchase tickets.
The first 200 dogs in attendance will receive UTRGV bandanas.
Yaqui Animal Rescue and Canines in Action Academy, LLC will offer information and programming during the game.
ENTRY TO THE GAME
After purchasing tickets, owners should check in with their dogs at the far-left gate at the front of UTRGV Baseball Stadium. Owners will then be asked to complete an attendance waiver.
Dogs will only be allowed inside the park with a completed waiver, which includes proof of up-to-date vaccinations.
A maximum of one dog per person is permitted.
SEATING OPTIONS
The left field side of the stadium will be dedicated for dogs and their owners.
Dogs must always remain on leash.
DOG WATER
Owners are permitted to bring water bowls for their dogs, but dog food is prohibited. Water will also be served community style in the dog play area.
DOG WASTE
Owners must clean up after their dogs.
Poop bags will be provided upon arrival to the stadium and will be available inside the stadium. All full poop bags should be thrown in a trash can.
Violators of these rules will be asked to leave the UTRGV Baseball Stadium immediately.
All Games
Current UTRGV students receive free general admission with their student ID.
All fans need to follow the clear bag policy, details of which can be found at
GoUTRGV.com/ClearBag.
V Club donors at the MVP level or above can take advantage of
priority parking.
Gates open one hour before first pitch.
