SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros baseball team (16-12) is set to face the Houston Christian University (HCU) Huskies (5-21) in a three-game series starting on Friday at 7 p.m. at Sullivan Field on the campus of th University of the Incarnate Word.
Saturday will feature a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
Should UTRGV and HCU play all three games, the first game of Saturday's doubleheader will be seven innings. Should Friday's game be rained out, both games will be nine innings.
Incarnate Word was chosen as a neutral site because it has a turf field, increasing the chances of UTRGV and HCU getting to play at least two games if not all three. While there is a high chance of rain in San Antonio on Friday, lightning is not expected. Additionally, Saturday is expected to be clear.
Fans are welcome to attend the games for free.
