RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's soccer team fought to a 1-1 draw with the Utah Valley (UVU) Wolverines Thursday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
Utah Valley (5-4-3, 0-2-1) took the initial advantage in the 39
th minute as

Omar Yeyha on a cross that ended in the bottom right corner of the net.
UTRGV (2-5-2, 0-1-1) responded when senior
Oneeko Allen scored on a penalty kick in the 76
th minute.
The Vaqueros were the aggressor to begin the match as they had two shots within the first six minutes of the half. The first half turned into a defensive battle as the Vaqueros and Wolverines combined for three shots in the final 36 minutes. The Vaqueros outshot the Wolverines 4-3 and 2-1 on goal in the first half.
Both teams were aggressive to begin the second half as the shot total was knotted at six within the first 10 minutes. The half continued as both teams attacked a newfound intensity before the Vaqueros were awarded a penalty kick that tied the game.

th minute, junior goalkeeper
Alexis Gonzalez faced a barrage of shots from the Wolverine offense earning two saves in 16 seconds to keep the match tied.
