HAMMOND, Louisiana – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer team played the Southeastern Louisiana University Lions to a 1-1 draw on Friday at Strawberry Stadium.
UTRGV (7-4-5, 3-1-4 SLC) found itself trailing early in the match as Southeastern (6-7-1, 5-3-1 SLC) grabbed the 1-0 lead on Emma Ramsey's goal in the eighth minute. The Vaqueros put the pressure on the Lions with four shots on goal throughout the first half, but it was their defense that settled in denying four other attempts on goal.
In the second half, redshirt junior
Savannah Frisby scored her Southland Conference tying seventh goal of the season in the 51
st minute tying the match at 1-1. UTRGV didn't stop their pressure in the rest of the half as they forced three shots on goal, but Southeastern goalkeeper Kendall Curan made the saves to keep the match tied.

Kamila Aguilar (4-2-1) finished the match with five saves as the UTRGV defense allowed just one shot on goal in the second half.
Senior
Libby Beilfuss became the program's leader in matches started with her 76
th career start. She also holds the program record for matches played with 90.
UTRGV outshot Southeastern 11 to 9 and 8 to 6 on goal.
The Vaqueros will be back in action on Sunday when they visit Northwestern State at 1 p.m.
