RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros volleyball team opens a three-match homestand Tuesday with a South Texas Showdown matchup against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (AMCC) Islanders.
The Vaqueros (6-7, 2-1 SLC) and Islanders (6-8, 1-2 SLC) will battle at 6:30 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse. UTRGV is riding some momentum after picking up its first two Southland Conference (SLC) wins in program history. All three winners of the SLC Volleyball Player of the Week awards will be featured in this match: sophomores
Isabella Costantini and libero
Celianiz Cabranes were named the SLC Setter and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for UTRGV, while AMCC's
Kyndal Payne tabbed Offensive Player of the Week honors.
The match can be watched domestically on ESPN+ and internationally on
Southland International. A clear bag policy is in place for all UTRGV facilities that all fans must follow. Tickets for the match can be purchased at
