RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros volleyball team is on the verge of breaking the overall program attendance record Saturday in the regular season finale at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
UTRGV drew 1,633 fans on Thursday, which is the eighth-largest crowd in program history. Now, the volleyball program is chasing the attendance record of 13,208 set in 2022. The Vaqueros (15-10, 11-4 Southland Conference) will face the Houston Christian Huskies (11-15, 8-7 SLC) at 2 p.m. UTRGV won the first round matchup between these teams, 3-1, in October. This is the Community Heroes match: active and veteran members of the armed forces, healthcare workers, frontline workers, first responders and teachers get free admission with a valid ID.
Fans who can't attend the match can watch it domestically on ESPN+ and internationally on
Southland International. A clear bag policy is in place for all UTRGV facilities that all fans must follow. Tickets for the match can be purchased at
