HOUSTON – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is ready to open the 2024-25 season Tuesday against a Power Four opponent. 

UTRGV (0-0, 0-0 Southland) will play the Houston Cougars (0-0, 0-0 Big 12) at 7 p.m. at the Fertitta Center. It'll be the first game of the season for both squads. The Vaqueros return eight from the 2023-24 season and welcomed eight talented newcomers. The game can be watched on ESPN+.
