NACOGDOCHES – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros volleyball team opens its run in the 2024 Women's National Invitational Championship (NIVC) Thursday with a 3 p.m. match against the Arkansas State Red Wolves at SFA's Shelton Gym.
This will be the first meeting between UTRGV (16-11) and Arkansas State (26-5) since 2003. The winner of this match will advance to the Super 16 and face the winner of Stephen F. Austin vs. Jackson State Friday at 6 p.m. back at Shelton Gym. This is UTRGV's third time competing in the NIVC and fourth overall trip to the postseason.
Fans unable to attend the match can watch it domestically on
ESPN+.
