Kade Hackerott Named DI-AAA ADA Scholar Athlete

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team learned on Thursday that junior Kade Hackerott has been named to the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA) Scholar Athlete Team. 
 
Basketball players from all Division I-AAA ADA member institutions are eligible for Scholar Athlete Team. Each of the nominees is required to maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletics credentials. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games. To be eligible for nomination to the Scholar-Athlete Team, individuals must have reached junior academic standing at their respective institution.
 
Hackerott is one of 11 on the 22nd annual Women's Scholar Athlete Team and is one of three with a 4.0 GPA. 
 
Hackerott played and started in all 29 games for the Vaqueros and finished second on the team with 11.9 points per game and led the team with 8.1 rebounds per game. She finished the season with 19 games in double figure scoring while also leading the team with five double-doubles. 
 
Hackerott ranked third in the Western Athletic Conference in rebounds per game, eighth in free throw percentage (.732), and eighth in minutes played (33.47).
 
Hackerott was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in March and earned Fall AD Honor Roll.
