Francis started the second half just like the first, scoring a goal in the 48
th minute. He took charge when the Jaguars were leisurely moving the ball deep in UTRGV's offensive third. Francis sprinted into the box, took the ball off the TAMSA goalkeeper's foot, dribbled around the keeper and drilled the goal.
Rain started falling hard at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex, but it didn't stop the red-hot Vaqueros one bit. Junior forward
Sota Matsuo scored his first NCAA Div. I goal in the 60
th minute, launching a fast and low shot from the top of the box off a tap-assist from Sukati. Shortly after the goal made it 5-0 in favor of UTRGV, the Jaguars were issued two yellow cards, bringing their match total to four.
The Vaqueros kept the downpour coming with a bevy of shots after Matsuo's goal, but Jaguars goalkeeper
Wilmar Aguilar made a trio of saves to keep the score at 5-0.
The match needed to hit 70 minutes to be considered an official contest, so with rain still falling at 71:39, the teams shook hands on the pitch and ended the match. The Vaqueros outshot the Jaguars 18-8.
