CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is starting a three-game road streak Saturday at 1 p.m. with a South Texas Showdown, presented by Rally Credit Union, contest against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (AMCC) Islanders at the American Bank Center.
The Vaqueros (8-8, 3-2 Southland Conference) are looking to snap a three-game losing skid to the Islanders (9-6, 1-3 SLC) and pick up their first win in Corpus since Dec. 8, 2020. UTRGV has won back-to-back games in comeback fashion after overcoming a 13-point deficit to defeat East Texas A&M by one point Thursday at home. AMCC has lost two in a row coming into this matchup.
Fans unable to attend the game can watch domestically via
ESPN+.
