THIBODAUX, La. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is heading to Stopher Gym to take on the Nicholls Colonels at 1 p.m. Saturday in the last road game of the regular season. 

The Vaqueros (15-13, 10-7 Southland Conference) secured their spot in the SLC Basketball Championships with Thursday's win at McNeese. They currently sit in fourth place as they head into the crucial game against the Colonels (16-10, 9-8 SLC), who currently sit in seventh but beat UTRGV in the first round of conference action. 

A win Saturday would tie head coach Lane Lord for the most wins by a head coach in program history at 85. It would also make this season the winningest conference season in program history and match the program's longest winning streak (five games) since Lord's first season, 2018-19. 

Fans unable to attend the game can watch domestically via ESPN+.
