SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 match to the UTSA Roadrunners on Tuesday at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners (16-2, 2-2 American Athletic Conference) picked up the doubles point with wins on the first and third courts. UTRGV's No. 2 team of sophomore

Mariia Bakhtina was competitive, jumping out to a 5-3 lead in the match. But the bout went unfinished, knotted at 5-5, when the 1-0 lead was secured by UTSA.
UTSA swept the singles matches in straight sets. The Roadrunners clinched the victory with wins on the second, fourth and first courts. The Vaqueros were competitive, pushing four sets to 6-4 scores. Makesar played a tight 6-4, 6-3 match at No. 1.
UTRGV (5-6, 2-2 Southland Conference) will be back at the UTSA Tennis Center for a 10 a.m. exhibition match Wednesday against Tyler Junior College.
