RIO GRANDE VALLEY – No. 2 The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros baseball team (34-16) opens Southland Conference Tournament Bracket Play, presented by Payne Auto Group, on Thursday at 6 p.m. against the No. 7 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders (20-29) at UTRGV Baseball Stadium.
No. 3 Lamar faces No. 6 Houston Christian University at 1 p.m.
Gates open at 12 p.m.
Current students of participating institutions, including those graduating this weekend, receive free general admission with their student ID.
