RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) baseball team learned on Tuesday that sophomore designated hitter
Armani Raygoza and senior catcher
Steven Lancia have earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Div. I Central All-Region honors, with Raygoza on the first team and Lancia on the second team.
The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I All-America teams will be announced on Friday prior to the start of the 2025 NCAA Div. I Men's College World Series. First Team All-Region selections, including Raygoza, are eligible for All-America honors.
Armani Raygoza
The Southland Conference (SLC) Player of the Year, an All-SLC First Team selection, and a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, Raygoza hit .384/.474/.706 with 17 home runs, 17 doubles, 60 RBI, 47 runs scored and two stolen bases in 53 games, including 51 starts at designated hitter and two at first base.

nd in the NCAA and first in the SLC in hits per game (1.53), 39
th in the NCAA third in the SLC in hitting (.384), 45
th in the NCAA and second in the SLC in slugging (.706), 60
th in the NCAA and first in the SLC in total bases (149), 78
th in the NCAA and second in the SLC in hits (81) and home runs per game (0.32), 86
th in the NCAA and second in the SLC in home runs (17), 100
th in the NCAA and third in the SLC in RBI per game (1.13), 103
rd in the NCAA and fifth in the SLC in on-base percentage (.474), and 127
th in the NCAA and second in the SLC in RBI (60).
Raygoza had one of the top individual seasons in program history, ranking third in total bases (149), fourth in home runs (17), seventh in RBI (60), eighth in hits (81), and tied for eighth in doubles (17). He also hit 23 home runs over the last two years, the third-highest career total in program history.
Steven Lancia
A Buster Posey Award semifinalist, an All-SLC First Team selection, a member of the SLC All-Defensive Team, and the Jody Ramsey Memorial Award recipient, Lancia ranks third in the NCAA in caught stealing percentage at 44.19% (19 out of 43). He also sports a .990 fielding percentage, having helped turn three doubles plays.
Offensively, Lancia hit .335/.436/.506 with five home runs, 11 doubles, two triples, 45 RBI, 41 runs scored and four stolen bases in 48 games, including 46 starts at catcher.
Lancia is leaving his mark on the program, as for his career, Lancia ranks third in putouts (1,157), eighth in RBI (114) and hits (190), and tied for 16
th in home runs (16).
