NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros volleyball team is riding a three-match winning streak into Saturday's Southland Conference (SLC) match against the Stephen F. Austin (SFA) Ladyjacks.
The Vaqueros (6-6, 1-0 SLC) and Ladyjacks (6-6, 1-0 SLC) are set for first serve at 12 p.m. at Shelton Gym.
Head-to-Head History
• UTRGV is 1-21 all-time against SFA in a series dating back to 1982. The Vaqueros are looking for their first ever win in Nacogdoches and first win against the Ladyjacks since Sept. 10, 2016, when they defeated SFA 3-1 in a neutral site match in Lubbock.
• The last match between these teams was on Sept. 28, 2024, won 3-0 by SFA in Edinburg. The Ladyjacks have won six consecutive matches in the series.
Last Time Out
• UTRGV opened conference play with a sweep over Lamar (25-20, 25-19, 25-17) on Wednesday in front of 2,535 fans during the School Day match presented by Whataburger. The Vaqueros have won three matches in a row, their longest streak of the season, with three consecutive sweeps. Five of UTRGV's six victories this season have been 3-0 decisions. Junior

• The Ladyjacks picked up a 3-1 (15-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-10) win in their conference opener at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday, snapping a two-match losing skid.
Ilana De Assis had 14 kills and
Caroline Kahle finished with 16 digs while
Kyanna Creecy tabbed eight blocks.
