SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is taking its momentum on the road to face the UIW Cardinals for the first time this season in a Southland Conference (SLC) game at 1 p.m. Saturday at the McDermott Center.
The Vaqueros (12-9, 9-3 SLC) are on a three-game winning streak and have been great on the road in conference play, holding a 5-1 record. The Cardinals (10-9, 8-4 SLC) are coming off a loss at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. UTRGV is chasing its first win in San Antonio since 2015 and is playing some of its best basketball heading into the challenge. A win would set a program record for conference road victories.
