NATCHITOCHES, La. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is on the road for the first time in 2026 and set to face the Northwestern State (NSU) Lady Demons Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in a Southland Conference (SLC) game at Prather Coliseum.
The Vaqueros (6-8, 3-2 SLC) are in a four-way tie for fourth in the early-season conference standings, while the Lady Demons (7-6, 4-1 SLC) got off to a hot start in conference action and are one of three teams tied atop the Southland standings. This is just the fourth meeting between these programs and will mark the second time UTRGV head coach
Lane Lord and NSU head coach
Anna Nimz, a former assistant and player of Lord's, play against each other.
