RIO GRANDE VALLEY – Mini plans are now on sale for The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's (UTRGV) 2026-27 men's and women's basketball seasons, which will begin Nov. 2 with a doubleheader at the UTRGV Fieldhouse and include 23 home dates.

Fans can purchase a six-game mini plan for $45 or an 11-game mini plan for $99 to secure single-admission tickets to six or 11 home dates of their choosing at UTRGVTickets.com. Fans can select any of the seven doubleheader dates as part of their mini plan to gain admission for both the women's and men's games on those dates.

UTRGV's women's and men's teams will open their 2026-27 seasons on Nov. 2 as the women host Arlington Baptist at 5 p.m. and the men host Texas A&M-Kingsville at 7:30 p.m. The Vaqueros basketball teams will play six Southland Conference (SLC) doubleheaders, hosting both the women's and men's teams from Stephen F. Austin on Dec. 19, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Jan. 2 as part of the South Texas Showdown, presented by Rally Credit Union, East Texas A&M on Jan. 9, Houston Christian on Jan. 30, LSU New Orleans on Feb. 6, and Southeastern on Feb. 20.

The 2026-27 basketball seasons will bring exciting contests to the UTRGV Fieldhouse with three postseason teams visiting the Valley during the non-conference slate. First-year head coach Brandon Chambers and the men's team will host Prairie View A&M, which won a First Four game in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, the Pac 12's Texas State, and several competitive SLC opponents. Women's head coach Lane Lord has his squad set to host North Dakota State and Abilene Christian, which were ranked in the Mid-Major Top 25 throughout the 2025-26 season, along with a tough conference slate at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.

UTRGV's basketball teams are coming off the best combined seasons in school history. The 2025-26 season saw UTRGV's women return to the postseason for the first time since 2019 and earn the program's first postseason road win. The women reached the second round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament after winning 21 games and 16 Southland Conference games – both program records. The men's team won a program-best 14 conference games and recorded back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1988-90.
