RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Friday that the men's soccer program will resume its suspended match against the HCU Huskies on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
UTRGV will maintain its 1-0 lead after junior
Elias Taj scored in the 10th minute and will resume play with 23:18 remaining in the first half.
The match, which started at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 1, was played for 21:42 before entering an indefinite lightning delay at 7:07 p.m.
According to 2026 and 2027 NCAA Men's and Women's Soccer Rule 7.7.2, the match shall be resumed from the point of interruption, and all statistics will carry over to the resumed game, including cards.
All matches at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex are free and open to the public. Gates will open one hour before the scheduled kickoff time.
