RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is hosting the UIW Cardinals Monday at 4 p.m. in a Southland Conference (SLC) game and the regular season finale at the UTRGV Fieldhouse. 

The Vaqueros (18-12, 15-6 SLC) have never lost to the Cardinals (13-15, 11-10 SLC) in Edinburg. UTRGV has locked up the No. 4 seed for the SLC Basketball Championships and UIW will be the No. 6 seed. A win for UTRGV will tie the program record of 19 wins and set a new record for most wins prior to the conference tournament. 

This will be a Monday Madness game featuring a DJ for pregame and in-game festivities, party lights throughout the night, and glowsticks, presented by Vaquero Outfitters, that will be distributed to fans. Lights will be shutoff at various times during games to allow party lights and glowsticks to illuminate the gym. UTRGV's men's team will play Northwestern State at 6:30 p.m. as part of a Monday Madness doubleheader. Fans can purchase tickets at UTRGVTickets.com. Current UTRGV students receive free general admission with their student ID but will need to claim a ticket at GoUTRGV.com/StudentTickets.
