CORVALLIS, Ore. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros baseball team (20-24) visits the No. 6 Oregon State Beavers (33-9) on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.

All-Time vs. Oregon State

UTRGV is 0-3 all-time against Oregon State, falling 5-4 and 9-1 on March 31, 2006 and 14-1 the next day on the road.

Last Time Out

UTRGV took two out of three from McNeese in a Southland Conference road series over the weekend. Among the game notes from that series:

at McNeese (4/26)
 

• Junior Armani Raygoza hit a go-ahead, three-run home run in the 10^th to send UTRGV to a 10-7 victory over McNeese. Raygoza finished with four RBI and a season-high tying three runs scored.
• This was UTRGV's second extra-inning victory of the series after winning in 11 innings in the opener.
• This is the first time UTRGV has played multiple extra-inning games in the same series since May 20 (11 innings) and 21 (10 innings), 2021 at Sacramento State.
• This is the first time UTRGV has won multiple extra-inning games in the same series since Apri 13-14, 2019 at Grand Canyon (8-5 in 13 innings and 9-7 in 10 innings).
• Senior Thomas Williams went 1-for-4 with two walks and a career-high four runs scored.
• Graduate student vela alum Rudy Gonzalez went a season-high tying 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a run scored. Junior Rocco Garza Gongora finished 2-for-6 with a run scored.
• Senior Kike Cienfuegos pitched a career-high 7.0 innings of relief, striking out six without walking anybody, for the win.

at McNeese (4/25)
 

• UTRGV dropped the middle game 5-3.
• Junior Julius Ramirez went a career-high tying 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
• Junior Rocco Garza Gongora went a season-high tying 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored.
• Junior Easton Moomau finished 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 14 games 
• Senior Caden Wanless pitched 1.1 perfect innings of relief.
• Sophomore Harrison Thayer pitched a season-high 6.2 innings.

 
at McNeese (4/24)
 

• Senior Thomas Williams doubled-in the go-ahead run in the 11^th to lead UTRGV past McNeese 8-7.
• This was UTRGV's fourth extra-inning game of the season, all of which have been on the road and three of which have been in conference play. The first three went 10 innings. The Vaqueros are now 3-1 in extra innings.
• This was the UTRGV's longest game since March 15, 2024, a 10-9, 13-inning home win over Nicholls. This was UTRGV's longest game away from home since April 8, 2023, an 11-10 13-inning loss to Houston Christian University at UIW. This was UTRGV's longest true road game since May 20, 2021, a 5-4, 11-inning loss at Sacramento State.
• This is the second-straight season in which UTRGV and McNeese have played an extra-inning game to open up the series after 9-6, 10-inning home loss last season.
• Thomas Williams went a career-high tying 4-for-5 with a home run, a season-high tying two doubles, two walks, a season-high tying three RBI, and a run scored.
• Graduate student Vela alum Rudy Gonzalez went a season-best 2-for-4 with a career-high tying two walks, a career-high two steals, and a run scored.
• Graduate student PSJA alum Diego Villescas finished 2-for-5 with a home run and a walk. Junior Evan Janner went a season-best 2-for-5 with a run scored. Senior Hank Warren finished 2-for-3.
• Graduate student Colton Vercoe racked up a career-high nine strikeouts in a career-high 5.0 innings for the win.
• Pitching against his former team for the first time, graduate student Sergio Lopez struck out seven in 6.0 innings.
