Biography

2025 Outdoor Track & Field (Sophomore): Finished seventh in triple jump at SLC Outdoor Championships with a mark of 14.69 meters… Was fourth in triple at Trinity Last Chance… Took eighth in triple at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster and the J. Fred Duckett Twilight… Jumped a season-best 14.95 meters to finish ninth in triple at the bobcat Invitational… Opened the season with a fifth-place finish in triple and a sixth-place finish in long jump with a PR mark of 6.72 meters at the Charles Austin Classic… 

2025 Indoor Track & Field (Sophomore): Did not compete in any meets. 

2024 Outdoor Track & Field (Freshman): Took fourth in triple jump at WAC Outdoor Championships, earning Second Team All-WAC honors… Was eighth in triple at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight… Took second in triple at the Cactus Cup with a personal-best mark of 15.04 meters… Was ninth in triple at the 44 Farms Team Invitational… Finished fifth in triple at the Kirk Baptiste Spring Break Invitational. 

2024 Indoor Track & Field (Freshman): Finished 10th in triple jump at the WAC Indoor Championships … Was 12th in triple jump at the Jarvis Scott Open … Made collegiate debut at season-opening Arkansas Invitational, taking third in triple jump with a personal-best mark of 14.85 meters, ranking fifth in program history. 

Prior to UTRGV (Lubbock Monterey High School): Hunter competed in a variety of events during his high school career but excelled in jumps. He earned bronze in triple jump at the UIL Class 5A State Track & Field meet in 2023 and finished sixth in triple at the state meet in 2022. He swept the golds in the long and triple jumps at the District 4-5A meet, also taking bronze on the 4x100-meter relay. He was second in triple and fourth in long jump at the Area 3-4 meet, then took silver in triple at the Region I-5A meet. In 2022, Hunter was the district champion in triple, second with the 4x100 and third with the 4x200-meter relay; won gold in triple at the area meet and was third with both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays, and won the Region I-5A title in triple jump. He owns personal bests of 48-5.25 in the triple jump, 22-7.5 in the long jump, 6-0.00 in the high jump, 10.90 in the 100-meter dash and 23.71 in the 200-meter dash, and ran all three relays in high school.

Personal: Son of Gwendolyn and Rufus... Has three sisters, Chelsea, Deborah and Kassidy... Chelsea played basketball at South Plains College and Eastern New Mexico (2018-21)... Describes himself as motivated, loving and driven... Studying business marketing.
