Gallery: (1-17-2024) Soccer and Track & Field Ribbon Cutting
The UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex recently received enhancement that were completed in January 2024, including new buildings for the soccer and track & field/cross country programs that include nearly 14,000 square feet of space for locker rooms, athletic training rooms, meeting rooms, and coaches’ offices. Additional enhancements include a new goalkeeper training area as well as the Hinojosa Family Press Box and upgraded sound system, the latter two of which kicked off the upgrades in August 2022.
Built in 2014, the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex is located on the west end of campus and boasts a seating capacity of 1,250. The original seating capacity was 555 but had to be expanded for the 2015 season due to overwhelming demand.
UTRGV hosted the 2016 and 2021 outdoor track & field conference championships and the complex served as a training ground for the St. Kitts and Nevis National Team ahead of the 2020 Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifiers.
UTRGV has hosted multiple high profile events beyond its own competitions at the complex, including the 2016 and 2021 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
