Jacob Hirsh, who played outfield for the Vaqueros from 2018-22, joined the staff as the volunteer analyst in the fall of 2022.
Hirsh remains at UTRGV following a successful playing career that saw him hit .260/.362/.423 with eight home runs, 26 doubles, six triples, 58 RBI, 81 runs scored and 15 stolen bases in 148 games (109 starts). He played sparkling defense in the outfield, not only showing off incredible range, but a strong arm, recording 16 outfield assists.
In his new role, Hirsh will assist with developing players by not only imparting his experience, particularly with outfielders, but by using performance tracking technology and sports science analytics.
