Atkinson enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with UTRGV.
Atkinson, who will help in player development and baseball operations, spent the last 11 years as the baseball operations director and a head coach with the Northwest Bandits. Atkinson’s coached the Bandits’ 16U team while scheduling fields, hotels and games and running the team’s website and social media pages.

Atkinson played a season at Corban University with his brother and current UTRGV baseball assistant coach Cody Atkinson before injuries shortened his playing career.
He graduated from Edmond Community College in 2014.
