Lucas Monroe

Lucas Monroe, who was the assistant strength coach at Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) in 2013-14, was hired as the assistant strength and conditioning coach in July of 2014 and promoted to head strength and conditioning coach in June of 2017.
   
While at MSSU, Monroe designed the strength and power workouts for track & field and the basic strength and injury prevention programs for cross country. He was responsible for strength programs for men’s golf as well as the cheer and dance teams. Monroe assisted with all aspects of the football strength and conditioning program while testing all student-athletes using the functional movement system to create individualized corrective exercise programs.
 
Monroe spent the previous two seasons at Lindenwood as a graduate assistant, where he was responsible for designing strength, agility and plyometric programs for men’s and women’s lacrosse, while designing year-round strength programs for wrestling and men’s golf. Monroe also assisted with football, volleyball, basketball, baseball and field hockey. He created profiles using performance tests and body composition for over 120 student-athletes while mentoring seven interns and supervising more than 25 student workers.
 
Monroe gained additional experience by completing internships at Washington, Central Missouri and Southeast Missouri State. He was also a paid intern at Central Missouri.

Monroe is Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also holds a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach (USAW-L1SP) through USAW and Level 1 Certification through the Functional Movement System.
 
Monroe earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Central Missouri and his Master of Science in Human Performance at Lindenwood.

Lucas is married to the former Kayla Bradley. They have one son Owen.Â
